04-14-2015: Stratasys introduced the groundbreaking large-format 3D printer Objet1000 Plus
This was a breakthrough in the large-format 3D printing segment
On April 14, 2015, Stratasys unveiled one of its most impressive 3D printing solutions—the industrial-grade Objet1000 Plus production system. This was a breakthrough in the large-format 3D printing segment, combining an exceptionally large build volume with the high precision of PolyJet technology.
The Objet1000 Plus stood out primarily due to its massive build area for photopolymer-based systems, measuring 1000 x 800 x 500 mm, enabling the creation of full-scale prototypes and large production tools. Importantly, the optimized printhead movement increased printing speed by 40% compared to its predecessor while reducing per-unit costs. At the time, it was one of the fastest and most efficient 3D printers on the market.
Another key advantage was its unmatched material versatility. Users could choose from over 100 Stratasys materials, including the Endur line, which mimicked polypropylene-like properties. The system also supported rubber-like materials, Digital ABS, and even combined different hardness levels (Shore A) in a single print. Thanks to PolyJet technology, it was possible to achieve up to 14 different material properties in a single part, opening new possibilities for engineers and designers.
Its workflow was identical to smaller PolyJet systems, making integration into existing production environments seamless. Additionally, the system was designed for long, unattended operation, enhancing its suitability for industrial applications.
The Objet1000 Plus found applications in aircraft cabin components, automotive interiors, and custom medical implants, among others.
