09-10-2013: iGo3D opened the first 3D printer store in Germany
It was one of the first such stores in Europe
On September 10, 2013, iGo3D—the largest supplier of desktop 3D printers and filaments in Germany at the time—officially opened its physical store. The store was located in Oldenburg, southwest of Hamburg. The opening ceremony was attended by 50 invited guests. Instead of the usual ribbon cutting with scissors, a 3D-printed chain was cut using bolt cutters.
iGo3D provided customers with a 130 square meter space featuring 3D printers from 3D Systems (Cubify), Leapfrog, Ultimaker, Builder, Witbox, and Felix. The store also offered DAVID 3D scanners, 3D printing materials, and various accessories created on 3D printers. Visitors could also purchase 3D-printed jewelry, smartphone cases, as well as 3D-printed lamps and interior decor items.
iGo3D GmbH is one of the leading companies involved in the distribution and sale of 3D printers, consumables, software, and other accessories related to 3D printing technology. Since its founding in 2013, iGo3D has quickly become a significant player in the European market.
iGo3D was founded by Michael Sorkin and Tobias Redlin. From the very beginning, the company focused on popularizing 3D printing and providing solutions for both individual consumers and businesses. Over the course of several years, the company expanded its operations to various European markets, opening branches in other countries, including Poland.
