12-21-2016: Farsoon Technologies announced its official entry into the U.S. market and the establishment of Farsoon Americas
Founded in 2009 Farsoon is manufacturer of SLS and DMLS 3D printers
On December 21, 2016, Farsoon Technologies announced the creation of its U.S. subsidiary, Farsoon Americas. The manufacturer of 3D printers for polyamide powders (SLS) and metal powders (DMLS) offered high-quality machines at very competitive prices. The launch of Farsoon Americas marked a pivotal step in the company's growth and the first instance of a Chinese industrial AM company establishing an independent subsidiary in North America.
Farsoon Technologies was founded in 2009 by Dr. Xu Xiaoshu, a pioneer in laser sintering technology. The company began operations in a modest 16-square-meter garage and, over the years, evolved into a global leader in additive manufacturing with a comprehensive portfolio of advanced solutions. Farsoon built a world-class, multidisciplinary R&D team with expertise in optics, mechanics, electronics, software, and materials.
In 2010, the company introduced China’s first advanced laser sintering device and compatible materials, becoming the only company in the world to manufacture both components in a single facility.
Farsoon Americas focused on promoting its metal printing systems, such as the FS271M with a build area of 275 x 275 x 320 mm, and the more compact FS121M with a build area of 120 x 120 x 100 mm. The subsidiary also served as a hub for advancing the technology through collaboration with local companies and material suppliers.
The division was led by Robert Evans, who took on the role of Managing Director. Previously, Evans worked for Incodema3D and Prodways. A year later, in September 2017, Farsoon opened a Sales and Support office located in Round Rock, Texas, USA.
