12-27-2023: Creality underwent a complete rebranding
Company changed its logo, color scheme, and guiding motto
On December 27, 2023, Creality—one of the world’s largest manufacturers of desktop 3D printers—announced a comprehensive rebranding of its identity. Starting in January 2024, the company began operating under a new logo and tagline: "Imagine It, Make It." This rebranding also reflected a strategic shift, emphasizing Creality's dominant market position.
The new tagline, "Imagine It, Make It," encapsulated the essence of 3D printing: transforming imagination into tangible reality. The redesigned logo embodied the company's commitment to sustainability and social responsibility, with the inclusion of greens underscoring a focus on environmental stewardship.
So that’s the official word from the press release. Now let’s dive into the real details...
Creality was founded in 2014 in Shenzhen, China, by Chen Chun, Ao Danjun, Liu Huilin, and Tang Jingke. From the outset, the goal was to manufacture the most affordable yet high-quality 3D printers. While these two objectives seemed contradictory, Creality managed to strike a perfect balance. Despite several obvious flaws and imperfections, the products remained acceptable. Unlike competing brands like Tronxy, Anet, or Tevo, Creality consistently delivered products at a significant higher standard.
Early models like the CR-10 gained recognition for their ease of assembly. Introduced in 2016, the CR-10 stood out with its large build volume and affordable pricing, making it one of the best-selling models of its time.
But the real breakthrough came in 2018 with the launch of the Ender 3. This 3D printer revolutionized the industry, offering a price below $200 and a highly user-friendly modular design. A vibrant user community soon formed around the Ender 3, contributing upgrades and modifications.
It’s widely believed within the industry that Creality has sold the highest number of 3D printers in AM history. While no official data confirms this, estimates suggest that Creality has sold several million units since its inception, securing its lead in the consumer-grade 3D printer category.
Today, despite the growing popularity of Bambu Lab, Creality remains the leader in the amateur and desktop segments.
