Atomic Layer of the Day:
Once more, Bambu Lab is implementing a solution that the rest of the industry will attempt to imitate with varying degrees of success. Yet again, they are setting trends and paving the way for further development.
The Shenzhen-based company has just introduced a new AI tool for generating 3D models called PrintMon Maker. It is integrated with the MakerWorld platform and allows users to create 3D printable characters based on typed prompts or uploaded images. Additionally, it optimizes models for multicolor 3D printing using the AMS module.
PrintMon Maker is a step toward further lowering the entry barrier into the world of 3D printing, enabling individuals with no prior experience in the field to easily generate models. The generated designs can be directly imported into Bambu Studio software or saved as full-color .OBJ files.
The tool also allows for creating separate files for the character’s eyes and bases, providing users with more options to customize their models.
Finally, I’ll just reiterate what might have slipped by—at the moment, it’s simply a "fun toy" for generating cute, China-like animal figurines for kids. But we all know that with Bambu Lab, this is only the beginning of the journey towards something much greater…
