You are grossly underestimating how many components in each BOM that Prusa imports from China plus the cost of using US labor. There is a reason the Made in USA 3d printer manufacturer landscape is littered with the skeletons of dead 3d printing companies like Printrbot,Makergear,Nexa3d etc. Good strategy for the higher end of the market like government and universities that insist on made in USA products. Not so much for the consumer side of the market.
As for Chinese components, it's reportedly ~30%. That's what Prusa says - either we believe him or we don't.
As for US labor costs, I don't know exactly how high they are, but I know that they are f***ing high in the EU. Eg. in Poland you add +68% of taxes and social security costs to the employee's net salary. So if you employ two people, the gross salaries are like they were three.
I don't think it's that drastically different in the Czech Republic than in Poland (after all, we are neighbors).
That 30% is by part count including printed parts. By value, its an open secret that components such as power supplies, bearings, rods, fans, and stepper motors come from China. Also the assembly technician labor wage rate in US is probably higher than in Poland. We also have additional overheads like worker's compensation insurance, medical/vision/dental and 401k contributions for the employee.
