RusselSmith buys WarpSPEE3D 3D printer and becomes official SPEE3D reseller in Africa
RusselSmith, an integrated energy solutions provider from Nigeria, will implement SPEE3D's Cold Spray Additive Manufacturing (CSAM) technology in West Africa.
The Nigerian company RusselSmith has announced the purchase of the WarpSPEE3D 3D printer and the establishment of a strategic partnership with the Australian company SPEE3D. RusselSmith will be responsible for the production of metal parts using cold spray technology in Africa. The patented SPEE3D technology enables the printing of parts weighing up to 40 kg with a diameter of up to 1m x 0.7m in just a few hours.
RusselSmith will also become a regional partner and reseller of SPEE3D products, responsible for implementation, training, sales, and customer support in industries such as oil and gas, defense, and commercial sectors.
Nigeria has one of the most dynamic energy sectors in the region, including the oil and gas industry. However, this industry faces challenges related to maintaining equipment on aging assets due to supply chain issues and difficulties in procuring replacement parts, causing significant operational delays. SPEE3D and RusselSmith aim to fill the gap between needed and available parts by manufacturing them locally, allowing companies to improve their operations and reduce costs.
RusselSmith is the only organization qualified by the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) to implement industrial 3D printing solutions in the oil and gas industry. The company was also recently inducted into the Additive Manufacturing Green Trade Association (AMTGA) and is currently the only member from Africa.
